Time, please stop...

Hello! Here's a short update again. I know I should be studying but I can't concentrate right know so I decided to take a break from studies for awhile. I'll keep this short and sweet, okay?

I can't believe it's December already. Everyone is greeting December like it's the most joyful month of the year. I mean......of course it should be joyful for those who will be celebrating Christmas. But, Christmas falls on Tuesday and I still need to attend classes on Monday and Wednesday, unlike those who are having holidays for the whole month of December. How to enjoy Christmas? Not shiok lor.....

Without me realizing, it's December already, indicating the nearing of 2013 and the end of 2012 soon. And then I'll be 21 by next year. OMG! Why so fast turn 20+?! It's okay la.......my birthday is in September so I'm still 20.....but I feel like I'm still 17 or 18. lol!

I didn't realize I hadn't change my calendar until a month ago(November), I took a look at it and it showed OCTOBER 2011. Lol......why didn't I bother to change it? It's too late to change now since 2012 is ending soon. I'll make sure to get myself a 2013 calendar next year and place it on my desk. I must!

In the midst of a busy life, there were times when I thought to myself.....

How nice if time can stop, even if it's just for a few minutes.

Imagine that. If you were given a chance to go back in life, what will you do? Where will you be?
But time can never stop. I can never go back. Whatever done is done. Life will go on forever, and I shall forever live with it, yeah.....the memories.

I sound emo? A little I guess. Maybe studied too much then brain went haywire. Hahaha!

This music video depicts a modern version of the Snow White where Snow White isn't typical princess or a good little girl we know all these while from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In this modern era, Snow White is just a girl who loves clubbing a lot. Of course, there are dwarfs, the evil stepmother and the huntsman but in this video, Snow White also has a lover. This is a twisted version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Mid 2012 kpop rookie singer: Juniel

I haven't been listening to any kpop songs for quite sometime and was rather outdated already since allkpop constantly have their readers updated everyday and I don't have the time to read all the articles posted there. Anyway, the point is.....I haven't been updating myself with kpop songs until just recently, a few days ago, I found this!

By korean rookie singer, Juniel.

This one is a duet with C.N.Blue's Yong Hwa. This song is so sweet and relaxing! Love this!

This song is not bad either. Another of my favourite from her album.

Although just a rookie, both of her songs have topping various k-charts. A good start I should say.
If you have listen to her songs, you would realise that her voice sounds like IU and their styles are similar. So you can now start to imagine the fan war(not another again) between IU's fan and Juniel's calling the idols copycats. Actually I have fun reading those comments written by the fans arguing who is better. I know IU is a kpop legend for conquering the kpop industry with her powerful and soothing voice at a young age but honestly, I have never like any of her songs. I just don't like the style. Juniel might not have equally powerful voice like IU but she has her own style so she is in no position to be compared to IU. Both of them are just similar but different. I like Juniel's acoustic ballad style which is always my favourite style of songs. So I hope Juniel will continue to shine(I have a feeling she will no matter how much IU's fan hate her) with this style.

Wow, here I have two 2012 favourite kpop rookie singers Ailee and Juniel. Hmm....I wonder who else will be included in this list? Anyway, my number one favourite singer is still Taeyeon.

Oh yeah! I heard that SNSD is releasing their new music video "Paparazzi" on Youtube today. Do check it out.

kpop newcomer, Ailee

Hi guys, I'm so excited to share with you guys my new found gem.

She is Leon Entertainment's newly debuted solo singer, Ailee. An America-born-korean(I guess so since she looks like a korean) from New Jersey, America, she was discovered through Youtube and later debuted in Korea.


Ailee is the hottest newcomer of kpop entertainment in 2012 that everyone is looking forward to. She is starred in the famous KBS drama series "Dream High 2" even before her official debut.

I was immediately stunned by her awesomely powerful vocals the moment I listened to it and fell in love with it.


Actually, she looks like Luna from f(x), voice sounds a little like her too.... and have a strong vocal that is almost on a par with Charice. Well, almost. Ok......maybe not. On par with Davichi maybe?

*If you don't remember who is Charice, she is the girl who sing that popular song - "Pyramid".

Perry or Perri?

,On my way back home, my sister switched on the car radio and there came Katy Perry's song, "The One That Got Away". It was the first time I listened to that song although my sister told me it was released quite some time ago. (There's no radio in my hostel so........I'm rather outdated.)

Anyway, I got hooked to it right away and was curious about the mv. Apparently, I didn't listened to the lyrics and judging from the upbeat tune, I thought the mv would be something like "Fireworks" but I was wrong.

The mv turns out to be....... rather sad.

I watched the mv of "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri as well but I prefer Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away"(probably because I wasn't a fan of Twilight). It's not just the mv but the song as well. Way to go Katy Perry!

It seems like I'm neglecting my blog lately because I don't know what to post. I'm getting lazier day by day. LOL! I'll probably update you guys with some chinese new year events I had last week in my next post so don't forget to check out my blog every now and then!

Why is JYP's Joo a failure?

I know it's very bad to call someone a failure but then she is known to be a failure of JYP company although she is not exactly a failure to me.

Who is Joo?

Do you know about Joo? Most people haven't heard of her and that's the reason why she became the failure.

Joo debuted in 2008 at the age of 18 with single "Because of A Man".

3 reasons why Joo is a failure:

Not competent enough

It's hard shine in the competitive korean music industry when you don't have either looks or talents especially if you're going solo. The music industry is just too cluttered with many groups and solos. There's approximately a total of 60 so far and still counting. There will be more coming in 2012. So, in order to standout from the crowd, you need to look good and have strong talent in singing if you're going solo. A very good example of someone with looks and talent is IU. Well, I'm not saying Joo is ugly but not appealing enough. It's just that to compete in the music industry, you really have to standout.

Not being well promoted
It's important for companies to promote their singers and it's important for them to do so. However, JYP did not put enough effort to promote Joo. JYP should have promote Joo's two single "Because of a man" and "Bad guy" which I find them rather good but sadly, JYP didn't. IU isn't really popular when she just debuted until the release of her hit song "Good day" which seems to make her popular overnight. That was when LEON Entertainment company discovers the 'hidden gem'. With the company continuously promoting IU, she's now shining brighter and ever. I do hope that Joo will be able to shine like IU someday.


Past scandals
There have been scandals lurking around revealing Joo's past that have contributed to her downfall.

Here's a picture showing her smoking with her friends at a young age. I got this picture from allkpop. Hmm.....I wonder who took and uploaded these pictures. It must have been taken years ago.

So these are mainly the reasons for Joo's downfall.

Now, I'll like to show you something else. I stumbled upon an article about Joo in allkpop.

What pissed me off is the way the article was written.

Along with SNSD’s Yoona and Sooyoung, the failure JOO, from JYP Entertainment has also graduated from high school on February 12th. She will be moving on to attend Dong-guk University, the same university where SNSD‘s Yoona and Wonder Girls’ Sun Ye will be studying.

Seriously? Do you have to emphasis "the failure"?

JOO celebrated the night of her graduation with tons of alcohol and a bunch of trashed people. Just kidding.

And "with tons of alcohol and a bunch of trashed people"?

You’d think JYP would make JOO look a little less uglier more presentable on her graduation day.

And this? WTH?!!

Is there a need to emphasis it's the only song you know?

This is all pure sarcasm and biased. This is such a let down that allkpop would write these kind of stuff. Allkpop should feel ashamed for publishing this article. I hope allkpop will delete this article because it does nothing but to tarnish the idol's image.

I'm so hot!

The weather is getting hotter and hotter nowadays even though it's monsoon season now. There's the occasional rain and storm every now and then but I still feel like it's a HOT HOT SUMMER~~

Frankly speaking, this song didn't catch my attention at all the first time I listened to it. I just love the their cute-funky colored outfits. It really gives the mv a splash of cheerful colors.

My first impression?

Ahh......not addictive at all. Why are they winning awards for this song?

I was wrong.

Days later, the song suddenly popped up and got stucked in my head. The next thing, I found myself automatically singing: "Hot summer~ A hot,hot summer~" over and over again. Just like any of their songs, it's annoying the first time but got addictive afterwards.

I still couldn't understand how every korean idol can dance in those killer heels and still look good. Anyway, the dance is cute but rather complicated (as usual for a noob like me).

It's Okay Even If It Hurts - Seohyun (SNSD)

It is kind of hard to find nice ballad songs these days. Well, just say I don't know where to start finding. Which band? There's so many korean bands. So many songs. How to know which is nice?

As I browse through Youtube for any other songs sung by Taeyeon, I found this. This song is quite nice and Seohyun's voice is actually quite good although not as good as Taeyeon's. I didn't realise that.

I love Taeyeon's voice a lot. Like this song so much! Jjang~

As for Athena, I've never watch this drama before but from what I see in the music video, some of the scenes reminds me of Iris(another big hit drama in 2009). In fact, this drama is a little related to Iris.

I can still remember how Iris made me glued to the television whenever a new episode is aired.

Anyway, this music video is nice.

The full version of the 'Before You Go' mv is finally out. Watching this reminds me of IRIS. Nonetheless, its nice. Good job to SM for compiling the whole story into a 5:19 minutes video, keeping it short and sweet.

I wonder if a part 2 of this mv will be released later on because it seems like it still has some loose ends. Besides, it may be on demand as TVXQ has a large fan base worldwide.

Teaser for TVXQ (東方神起)-Before You Go

This teaser is so cool. Its the best music video teaser I've watched so far. SM Entertainment really did a great job in producing this teaser. It makes me feel anticipated about the new song and the video too. I am not a fan of TVXQ but both YunHo and ChangMin looks so cool and captivating here. Seriously! =D

I read somewhere that the full version of this song will be released on the 14th March. Can't wait for it as this teaser tease me so much. I hope it doesn't disappoint me. :)
