A wish upon a star

Monday, August 19, 2013

Tired from the long hours of staring at my laptop, trying to break the levels of candy crush, I look out of the window at the dark sky and wonder how long has it been since the last time I gazed in awe at the clear night sky full of bright, shining stars.

In my vast childhood memories, I remember myself walking along the beach with people I don't really know. The were no electricity around us and when I held my head up and looked at the sky, that was the only time in my life I've ever felt this amazed. There were hundreds, maybe thousands of stars.

When I was young, I used to wish upon the stars before I went to bed whenever I had problems. Today, as I looked at the sky, there isn't a single star to be seen. It's not like I'm still doing this wishing-upon-a-star thing but if I've a chance to make a wish, there's one I would wished for.

I wish I was never a selfish coward.

There were so many things in life that could have taken a better turn if I was brave enough to face my difficulties and mistakes. If only I could see the opportunities and not care a single thing about what others might think. There were times when I stayed awake through the wee hours of the morning, wondering of the possibilities if I had done the opposite. Would I be happier so?

But then, I was a coward. I never tried to step out of my comfort zone.

Whatever it were, they were in the past. I believe it is fate that has brought me to where I am today as I could not walk two different paths at the same time.

Tonight, I wish I'll be brave enough to take the first step before it's too late again.

IU's acoustic cover of 'Forgotten Season' in You're The Best Lee Soon Shin

Friday, July 26, 2013

IU does an acoustic cover of 'Forgotten Season' as Lee Soon Shin in the recent korean family drama "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin".

This song is an old korean song originally sung by Lee Yoong in 1982. (wow....such an old song..)

Honestly, I couldn't quit listening to this version repeatedly. It makes me feel calm and brings tears to my eyes when I sing along. My parents love it too and even asked me to sing it. (I bet you'll wanna stuff your ears when you hear me sing.....ehm)

The family drama "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin" is currently on it's 38th episode and still in the process of filming.

I really enjoyed watching this drama with my family. To those who are curious, this drama is aired in Astro KBS every Saturday and Sunday, 7pm. (Only in Malaysia. Not sure about other countries.)

You're welcome! *wink*

Vanity corner: Happy June~

Friday, June 28, 2013

Hello! Ohaiyogozaimasu!
Welcome to vanity corner where you'll get to see more of me.

In another 2 more days, I will be welcoming July with wide open arms and shout out loud:

"July is going to be a good month! I'm going to enjoy this month!"

June wasn't exactly a happy month. It taught me that odd things does happen and nothing comes easy. Change is inevitable. Decisions, forever a dilemma.

June wasn't exactly a sad month either. It showed me how little I saw before when I thought I've seen everything. It opened doors that I've never realized exists.

Many people asked me this:

"Do you think you've made the right decision?"

"Yes."

"How sure are you?"

"My heart told me so."

If I were given a second chance to think and rethink, I'll still make the same decision. I'm not sure if it's the right decision or if I'll shout I regret! in the future but.....
Hey, who are we to know what is the right decision?
Regret? I'm sure I wouldn't in the future.

So, to everyone who dropped by this page,
thanks for reading and have a good month ahead!
=)

Cheers,

Here Comes Malaysia's "Haze Season"

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Here comes Malaysia's "haze season"!

It was early in the morning about 7am when I woke up and smelt a strong waft of burning smoke as if somewhere nearby was caught on fire or someone irresponsible was burning heaps of rubbish. I was expecting to get some fresh air into my lungs because that's what I always do when I wake up this early in the morning. Instead, all I get is the smell of haze. Oh great. The haze season has come. The haze was pretty terrible as I couldn't get a clear vision of my living room from my kitchen. See how severe it was?

It was all hazy everywhere in Melaka that day but the haze subsided in the next few days and I thought:

"Oh yes! It's not that bad already. Maybe Indonesia finally realize what they're doing and how they've made their neighbour's citizens suffer. Maybe they've stopped the burning."

This morning, Melaka turns hazy again.
And it got worse.

Alright. I'm so stupid to think they'll actually stop burning. The indonesians probably couldn't control the burning themselves because of the strong monsoon wind.

The air pollution index(API) in Melaka rises to 357 today while Muar, Johor hits 750. It was told that the haze will continue on until the end of July. Although the haze in Melaka is just half of Muar, it's still unbearable. I don't really know how people in Muar are going live in this kind of hazardous air pollution for the next whole month. Let's just hope that the API will stop rising. Oh god! Let's bring on the rain! Bring it on!

This is how it looks like from my room window a few days ago when the API was still below 300. It looks all greyish like a dead town huh? Zombieland~ ^_^

This is how Singapore looks like with API 400. You can barely see Marina Bay Sands!

No matter how bad the air pollution is, we still have to continue on with our lives. Everyone, drink more water, stay indoors(if possible) and pray for the rain!

Tsubasa Chronicle soundtracks

Monday, June 17, 2013

Everyone has their own lives to live. You can't always live other people's life or ask others to follow yours.

These were my past favorite soundtracks from Tsubasa Chronicle. Haven't listen to them for years.

1.) Lost Wings
2.) Hear Our Prayer

Silent thoughts

Monday, May 27, 2013

If people can be truthful to themselves, there will not exist 'what if'. However, humans are that untruthful sometimes, trying to deceive themselves, ignoring what's truly important. But, how can we be sure that what we're feeling is something important? How certain can we be? If we knew, then there can never be any 'regrets'.

开花不结果

Sunday, April 21, 2013

This is a song sung by a Malaysian rising singer, Bell 宇田. Ok, this isn't exactly a song. It's like a theatrical version where in between, a girl confesses and tells the story of her life when her beloved suffers acute leukemia.
虽然故事好像有听过,但是听完后,心还是酸酸的。
说真的,整首歌是挺 emo 的。
当然啦。。看一看歌名“开花不结果”就知道了。

I'm sorry I couldn't find one with english subtitle. Everything is in chinese. If you can listen to chinese and want some emo, go ahead, give it a try.

Learning new language: Korean

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

Happy moments, hurtful moments, embarrassing moments, etc. Whatever it is, just remember one thing. Life still goes on as per normal. If you're happy, cherish that moment. It'll turn into a sweet memory someday. If you're sad, just remember that soon it'll become a history so why bother so much? Shrug it off and move on!

Panorama effect of Melaka river capture from Garden99.

I'm currently in my last semester, a short semester with only 2 subjects. It's not a busy semester but I'm not that relaxed either. Well, stupid people like me wouldn't feel relaxed unless it's a HOLIDAY! =D

One of the subjects taken this semester is korean language. The other is a boring subject: marketing. ZZzzz...... Korean language isn't that hard for me probably because I've learned to pick up and understand some korean words while watching korean drama and also listening to korean songs. But! It's still very confusing sometimes because it's still a new language to me. A~ E~ OE~ O~ OI~ WI~ WE~~~ @@

Why did I choose to learn korean language you ask?

OK. Let me tell you why.

1.) I love to watch korean drama and movies.

I don't want to be left rolling on the floor waiting for english subtitles, dying to know what the actors are saying. It's really annoying when you feel so excited that the drama you're currently addicted to has just released a new episode but there's no english subtitle. It just makes you wanna bang the wall!

2.) I still listen to korean songs.

Although I'm not a kpop addict anymore, I still keep an eye on my favourite band & singers and listen to their releases. I love korean ballads especially and would want to understand the meaning so that I can feel the feelings the singers are trying to deliver through their songs. Songs from Baek Ji Young, Davichi, Super Junior K.R.Y and Taeyeon are always on my list.

Taeyeon has recently released another OST for That Winter, The Wind Blows. OMG I'm so happy! Have you listened?

OMG I wanna hug her after listening to this.

I don't know if it's just me or I'm too sensitive or what but I love Taeyeon's voice so much I'll tear a little whenever I listen to her songs even when I'm in a happy mood. How nice if I'm able to attend her concert and watch her sing all her osts live.

3.) Visit Korea someday, maybe?

It'll be good if I can visit Korea someday in the future to experience their culture. Maybe I'll take a walk around their historical palace and take a picture of myself wearing hanbok since I love watching sageuk drama so much. Maybe I'll go there for a shopping haul trip. Perhaps if I'm lucky, I'll be there to attend SNSD concert or SMtown concert and meet my favourite idols Taeyeon and Super Junior. Wakakaka~
Oh Super Junior.....I can still recall the day when I attended their concert Super Show 2 in Malaysia. It feels like a dream come true!

So those are my 3 reasons. Anyway.....anyway.......Let me tell you something.

My dreams are bugging me lately.

I don't know why I have so many dreams of myself, dating and falling in love with someone lately when in reality, I don't even have a boyfriend!

Maybe it's a sign telling me that I should find myself a boyfriend? lol can't imagine that!

Somehow, I wish to keep having this kind of dreams. They're kind of mysterious.........and addicting! Hahaha lol!! Bang the wall please!

To The Moon

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Hi guys!! How's chinese new year? Great? Had fun gambling? lol
I hope you had fun like I did.
=D

Yes! Exams are finally over! Here comes MMU's longest holiday! One month ONLY~~
I guess that's the best holiday local universities can give.
Well, better than none.

I know I did promise to blog about 2012 and chinese new year but.....I lazy la....
Hoho~ ^^
You know that lazy holiday mood? Each and every time before holiday begins when I'm as busy as hell, I'll make a list of things to do during the holiday but when holiday comes, I sort of just forget about it and sing the lazy song: "Today I don't feel like doing anything~".
See first lah! If I'm happy I post!
Haha!

Anyway, here's an indie game I came across with an interesting plot.

This is the trailer of the game 'To The Moon'.

'To The Moon' is an indie adventure RPG about two doctors traversing through the memories of a dying man, Johnny to fulfill his last wish.

To do so, the doctors must enter the patient's memories and go back in time to Johnny's childhood where memories are reconstructed. With each step back in time, a fragment of Johnny's past is revealed. As the two doctors piece the puzzle together, they soon find out why Johnny wished for his last wish, that is.....to go to the moon.

I'm not particularly trying to promote this game as I've not play it myself but I'd wish to. It's the plot that's interesting and is fit to be made into a movie. Besides, the soundtracks are very nice.

If only I'm willing to fork out that RM33.
Should I?

Fyi, this game won several awards so guess it's pretty awesome.

This may not be new to you but still, I wanna announce that Wondergirls' leader Sunye is getting married! Congratulations to her although I'm not a Wonderful(Wondergirls fan name).

Actually my point is.....
*ahem* her husband-to-be looks good *cough*

Oh, please excuse me.
It's time to bury myself in that pile of books and notes again.
See ya!

Random Video - Princess Mononoke Theme

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Hey everyone! I've been on Youtube watching random videos out of boredom once again. Eh, I'm actually not that bored. I'm just trying to delay my time to study. You know procrastination? That's my hobby. LOL!

There's always the fun part in watching random videos on Youtube. You wouldn't know what you'll find next. Maybe it's something disgusting, maybe it'll be sad, or just a trolling video.

Here's a video of a talented young lady, Taylor Davis, playing the Princess Mononoke Theme with her violin, collaborated with Tamathps. I find this piece of music extremely pleasing to my ears, so I've uploaded the video here to share it with you guys.

Oh, do you know Princess Mononoke is a Studio Ghibli film directed by Hayao Miyazaki who also directed the Academy Award winning film Spirited Away?

I got excited to watch Princess Mononoke after listening to this music theme. I'll definitely watch it and let you guys know AFTER MY EXAMS!!

Tata!!

Whee~ I'll be able to do this trick with the new Malaysian 50sen coins and turn into no face. Haha!

Happy Chinese New Year! =D

Sunday, January 13, 2013

Hey! How's everyone doing in 2013? Great?
I hope so.

2012 has been quite an awesome year for me but I'm not going to tell you how awesome it was! Hmm......
I'll leave that for the next post coming up in........
February maybe?
No, it's not that I'm lazy, maybe a little la....but,
Hey! I have final exams in another 2 weeks you know?
How 'awesome' is that?
=.="

Last Thursday, I tagged along with my housemate to the Chinese New Year Festival(新春园游会) held by MMU Chinese Society at the MMU President Square. It was my first time witnessing such an event ever since the day I joined MMU. Stalls selling foods and drinks surrounded the President Square. People were buzzing all over, chit chatting in excitement. This really reminds me of koku day during my school days when we'll buy some foods, chit chat, play around, then eat and play and eat again. lol....

The show started at 8pm and ended at about 11.30pm. It's pretty late you know, but it's fun! I'm just so glad that I went there early so I get sit on a chair and enjoy the performances, not having to stand there for 3 hours watching. The performances were overall entertaining, especially the chinese yoyo performance. Those guys were just awesome! I just wish there was a drama. That'll be nice ya....

During my school days, on the day before CNY holiday starts, there will always be CNY performances. Everybody will be so excited for it that no one has the mood for studies. I bet so do the teachers! The most anticipated show that everyone don't want to miss is the drama. Every year without fail, my school will come out with a short CNY themed drama that will make us laugh and maybe bring some tears. Those were the days.......
Eh wait......
I just realised I haven't step into to my secondary school since the day I declare myself as a SPM leaver. What a shame.....

Anyway, I have been complaining to mum of how little new year clothes I have left because she forced me to wear most of them last year.

Mum: "Aiya! You everyday wear same clothes not sien meh? Wear your new year clothes la!!"
T^T.......fine lor.....

So my mum brought me to Mahkota Parade yesterday to sapu some new year clothes. You won't believe how long I spent in Kitschen and how many times I entered the fitting room with an armful of clothes until the girl on service laughed at me.....and I laughed back.
Awkward.

I'm so happy with the clothes I bought but I wish I can buy more. Hoho~ greedy ain't I?
Anyway, now that I have bought myself some new clothes, I can finally ease my mind, lock myself in my room and focus on my studies.

Shopaholic for a day, prisoner for the rest of the month.
wth?

Before I end this post, here's a short, heartwarming CNY advertisement to remind us of our parents and don't forget to attend our family reunion dinner.
You'll thank me!

Happy new year and also Happy CNY in advance to those celebrating the festival!
